memtest error

Memtest gives at 260FSB 1 error (5/4). At 250 FSB (1:1) i have no errors.
My ram doesn't like dividers..? (Memtest stressed the memory but also a bit the cpu).
I've runned each test only 2 hours.

Why? I believe BIOS codings/tables take more than just the physical BIOS Ram. Your memory may not be one of the approved brand that the divsional table in the BIOS is having computation errors.;)

better buy other RAM that can do 1:1 at higher FSB?

Sidney 14th July 2004 22:48

Well, I have memory sticks that run at 1:1 at 260 that perform worst than 5:4 ratio. Since, I'm cheap, and can never understand how to testify in spending over $200 for memory, I stay with Micron/Crucial; Apacer; Buffalo; OEM type memory.

I've learnt Corsair may have tight timing, but the OCing may not be as great. If money is not a factor (this is rare), go for Corsair.;)
