Kakaroto G.SKILL PC4000 2GB HZ testreport

Just received two kits of this RAM. This ram is the extreme version of the 2GB HS which is rated at PC3200.

Here some official specs:

* Package : 2048MB kit (2x1GB) dual channel pack
* IC Spec : Samsung
* CAS Latency : 3-4-4-8 (PC4000)
* Test Voltage : 2.6~2.8 V
* PCB Board : 6 Layers PCB
* Speed : DDR 500MHz (PC4000)
* Type : 184-pin DDR SDRAM
* Error Checking : Non-ECC
* Registered/Unbuffered : Unbuffered
* Quality Control : Comprehensive rigorously tested in pair at dual channel environment
* Warranty : Lifetime

I tested two kits to see if the the OC results are similar.

Here some pics:

This RAM also uses SAMSUNG UCCC IC's.

I tested on two CPU's, a Venice 3000+ week 17 and a week 28 X2 3800+. Both average overclockers with at least memorycontrollers that can handle DDR600 with MP9x.

Venice system:

-DFI nF4 ultra-D BIOS 623-3 (official site bios)
-Asus 450Watt

X2 system:

- DFI nF4 SLI-D BIOS 623 (Factory bios)
- Tagan 480W-U22 2Force

DDR500 3-4-4-8 1T stock tests

3Dmark01, 3000+

Everest, X2 3800+

SPI 32M, X2 3800+

Lets see what it can do when overclocking.
What I have noticed is that this IC doesn't like high voltages. The sweetpoint is 2.5~2.65v.

DDR540 3-4-4-8 1T 2.54v~2.58v

SP2004, 3000+

SPI 32M, 3000+

DDR556 3-4-4-8 1T 2.54~2.58v

SP2004, 3000+

SPI 32M, 3000+

Memtest86++ STD, 3000+

Here 280Mhz 3-4-4-8 1T at same voltage!

SPI32M X2 3800+

3Dmark01, X2 3800+

I also can memtest86++ 280MHz at 3-4-3-8 1T at the same voltage, but SPI 32M craps out.

Memtest86++ STD, 3000+

I think the average OC of this memory lies between 270~280 3-4-4-8. I see guess2098 with 3-3-3-3 OC, unfortunately I cannot achieve this timings on both CPU's.

An important setting when going over 250MHz, is setting Read to write Delay on 3 or higher, 2 will nogo.

Newegg is carrying them now.

Wow, you're a lucky guy. This is a very nice memory kit, especially for an overclcoker like me. I wish I had the money to afford buying them.

Overclockers have to have money; otherwise, they are called overclockers To Be :)
