I broke my Zalman 7000.. but I fixed it!

I dropped something in the fan while it was powered on, hooray for open systems

So to make it all even again I broke to other fins too:

I discovered that by removing these screws on each side I could remove the broken fan:

So I ended up with this:

to remove the fan from the bracket 2 little screws need to be ... unscrewed:

I took a fan I had lying around and removed it from it's bracket, aligned the holes with the bracket and screwed it back on, if that don't work good old instant-glue will do the trick also..

I choose a 80mm fan because I don't have any spare 92mm's

.. makes the Fan look ridiculously small of course:

I have no idea of how it performs (yet) but the fan used is very silent (Aerocool ALU 8025) but doesn't produce much airflow (logically).

I cleaned the bottom of the Zalman with some Arctic Clean from AS and was suprised how much dirt there was gathered there:

If you can still remove the fan i'll ship you a special 92mm fan ... if you promise to post a picture when it's finished

I screwed the fan in its place so it's defenitly removable, but the question of course is, that special 92mm fan, is it silent?
