Buro beneden :)

E8400 nog niet getest. Sebiet onder lucht zien of het bordje het overleefd heeft :D

Massman 25th October 2009 09:44

Okay, seems like the board didn't survive, tested E8600 in RE and there it works perfectly. It sounds like an electrical issue: quick boot up and then shutdown.

condensation ?

Massman 25th October 2009 10:30

It's either condensation or the NB that is dead.

So 6Ghz still doable, I supposse CPU is burned in now

blind_ripper 25th October 2009 20:04

WATCH IN HD!

Gamer 25th October 2009 20:24

Benching ok, but no result ? :)

This pot could fit 5870 ?

Massman 25th October 2009 20:27

http://hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=913201 ;)

leeghoofd 25th October 2009 20:41

Nog jong he Luc, da komt wel :)

Wel met die GPU speeds kan je pakken punten sprokkelen PJ... helaas misschien nie genoeg voor de giga competitie...

Massman 25th October 2009 20:51

Jups, maybe in the near future :)

leeghoofd 25th October 2009 20:57

Bel Praxair al maar voor liters :) Mot je nog betalen voor vrijdag

Gamer 26th October 2009 18:08

PCI-e bridge aangekomen :)

blind_ripper 27th October 2009 17:24

i hear massman and leeghoofd won @ tweakfest.

hip hip hooeeeraaaa !!!!!!111

leeghoofd 28th October 2009 20:22

No points for second best lads :)

We almost came back empty handed... but the pi32mb run of OBR will have to be investigated... there are rumours about .... Or he really had found a bug in the bios... to be continued :p

jmke 28th October 2009 20:23

again?
lol

leeghoofd 28th October 2009 20:33

wait till hiccokie posts the official screenshot, you will be shocked !! logic says FAIL, but it could be that he found some sort of mega tweak as he ran lower speeds, lower ram speeds and way looser ram timings then anyone in the room...

Massman 29th October 2009 07:35

If the rumours of his hardware settings and OS optimisations are true, him being 3 seconds faster is ... truely amazing :)

thx, here's link to all the pics from benching the GTX260 and I7

blind_ripper 29th October 2009 17:06

did u try setting that tool to low priority?

leeghoofd 29th October 2009 17:36

Yep affinity to the 3rd core and low priority set...

Gamer 29th October 2009 21:35

It seems like the PCI-e riser doesn't work :(

Other cooling needed for one card.
H²O cooling or different one ?

jmke 29th October 2009 21:42

Massman, most likely that CPU INFO tool was eating resources. if he did a run without it and it passed as "valid" -> Belgium #1 :D

Massman 30th October 2009 07:58

There's something weird going on in any case ... too bad we'll never know.

geoffrey 31st October 2009 14:16

Not what I meant, but nevermind.

Can't seem to find info, but TNT2 cards have 3,3V VGPU right, just like their mems?

EDIT: stock
Aquamark: 2437
GFX 246
CPU 9072

hwbot top 5 starts at 3258, topping out at 4259, nearly double performance. Nice goal to aim for :)

It's seems like most hwbot peepz have them oc-sliders maxed out, most ran aqua@150mhz cpu (100mhz default)
I'm giving 150/170 a shot now, opening scene@6,2fps :woot:

EDIT: 150/170
Aquamark: 3492
GFX 357
CPU 9007

EDIT: 160/180
Aquamark: 3660
GFX 372
CPU 8985

2,5V for GPU, 3,3V for the mems, GPU doesn't scale with extra volts, I'm topping out at 185MHz and 3,25V VGPU.

185/180
Aquamark: 3800
GFX 387
CPU 10111

Gamer 2nd November 2009 19:51

Add some cooling :)

geoffrey 2nd November 2009 21:28

AGP aperture at 32mb is not a good idea :D Scored under 800 points in Aquamark. I've added fans, core runs hot but not troublesome. Dunno what I'm doing wrong but I can hardly match others. Though memclock must be of some importance since 16MB is close to nothing, mems will be stacked full pretty fast, then the faster memory will come in very handy. No Vregulator on the board though, voltage comes via mainboard. What can I do, scrap traces and directly feed from 3.3V line from the psu?

leeghoofd 3rd November 2009 04:35

What's the mobo and rams being used ? AM3 is very ram sensitive too and not always are higher clocks better !

Why not strap it to the 5V line?

Some AMD 754 board with VIA chipset and 1gig single channel ram. cpu is A64 3200+ single core at 2,2 gig. Not the best AGP setup but I think it would hardly make a difference when AM3 is running at sub 10fps all the time. VGA = large bottleneck.

Because it is memory and very sensitive to overvoltage. Core tested up to 3,5V, nothing extra.

jmke 3rd November 2009 18:05

It makes a difference, about 2000-3000 points difference between an Athlon setup and a C2D at ~3ghz

geoffrey 3rd November 2009 18:08

I hope you're being sarcastic because... that would double my current score :)

leeghoofd 3rd November 2009 18:11

I have the Asrock AGP/PCI-E mobo at home.

I gained loads of points by using DDR2 and tightening them sub timings... I hope MM still has that X6800 CPU... 3.3Ghz was no problem out of the box, board was limited at 300FSB, but with the multi at 11X or higher (requiring Vcore voltmod) there' sno biggie to push further

no, I'm actually basing this of HWbot scores with TNT2, maybe you should do a bit of research ;)
