Filling a Stacker 830 hi gentlemen I'm about to buy a CoolerMaster Stacker830, which can support up to nine 120mm but even after all the reviews and comments I've read about silent fans, I just can't make up my mind about the right fans to choose :grum: first I think I'm gonna put some of these 140mm fans on the door : Sharkoon size : 140 mm x 140 mm x 25 mm airflow : 48.7 CFM speed : 900 RPM noise level : 22.0 dBA bearing : Slide Bearing think they're good fans? I also need : *1x120mm at the back - warm air outtake *2x120mm at the front (for HDD racks) - cool air intake *1x120mm on top - warm air outtake I'm actually hesitating between : -Nexus fans (link) -Scythe Minebea NMB Silent IC fans (link) -Scythe S-FLEX fans (link) -Noctua fans (link) I hope you can help me taking the good decision :ws: thanks. |
this should get you started http://www.madshrimps.be/gotoartik.php?articID=421 you can't go wrong with the Nexus or S-Flex fans; the others (Noctua) I still have to test |
I think I've already read your nice review and listened to the audio samples about twenty times :D the problem is that in every internet reviews (not yours though), they all conclude with "it's a great performing fan, and very silent too" so it's pretty hard making up your mind... can you tell me for sure what kind of bearing got the nexus fan? in your review, you claim they're sleeve bearings, but in another review the author said they were double ball bearings... |
maybe they got different models? :) |
I don't think they do, and they don't even mention the type of bearings on their website did you like scythe or nexus fans more when you tested them? |
I would go for the cheapest one available from a local shop you trust; both series of fans are above the standard and will provide excellent performance/noise balance |
well, I finally picked Noctua NF-S12 fans :D they come with a nice bundle, they have a 6 years warranty, and according to all the reviews I've read they're excellent fans |
they are certainly not bad, and pretty good for case cooling:) |
