Okay, finally realised that Skynet will host my screenshots as my parents use their ADSL... here is a screenshot at 17x182:

reminder that this is DDR ram.

The Senile Doctor 4th July 2002 14:43

3600 on ddr is high... very very high :o
I'd be very curious to see what that gives in comparative running 3dmark...when I get my prometheia back, what I'd like you to do is run a default, untweaked 3dmark at this speed with a non-oced gpu.

I'd like to compare that with a perfectly identical overclock on the cpu on rimms, I'll put mine on the same speed and do an identical 3dmarkrun, and see what the difference is.

because if you can run your mem @ 240 you'll outrun the rimms @ 3*182 I think.

shiyan 4th July 2002 16:31

thing is, my 3DMark score is a bit dissapointing, just 13407. This is with the Gainward at 333/750.

I wonder what Oppainter gets in Sandra, with his 260mhz DDR...

But I do want to know what happens when you have the same speed P4 with Rambus at 3600 in sandra, or DDR with 3600 in sandra.

I think I need some help with fine tuning my system for 3DMark.

The Senile Doctor 4th July 2002 16:42

try beginning with nature ;) and before you do, check your actual gpu OC

according to Slim, the Prometeia is pretty quiet. but mine is as loud if not louder than aircooling, around the volume of a 45cfm 80mm YStek, with a few more 80mm case fans.

however when I ran it without any load back in London, it was pretty quiet. could I have damaged it during transportation? or are they louder under load?

Gamer 7th July 2002 19:26

damn, Ive got some condensation, seen it in time :)
on the evaporator there where some drops of water, almost falling down on the vidcard.

shiyan 7th July 2002 19:50

looks like it's the PSU which is making a hell of a lot of noise...

The Senile Doctor 7th July 2002 19:52

I don't like the sound of that... you mean the psu in the prometheia is making a lot of noise?

it's supposed to be very very silent... the only thing making noise was that extremely crappy casefan...
