which ATI card is the best bang for the buck?
 

Hello y'all,

first and for all, all the best in 2004 for all those madshrimpers out there!

Now, I haven't followed the VGA card things lately, and now I see many Radeons available. Seeing all those different types, which one is the bang for the buck?

I know nvidia cards can't be softmodded significantly, but some radeons can and quite a lot.

So What do I need? at least 128mb & tv out and cheap :)
Which one to choose and how far will a softmod get it?

9800SE AIW can be modded in to 9800 pro?
9500 can be modded in to a 9700?

idd the 9800se and np can be modded to a pro, if you have the right memchips

unfortunely the don't produce the 9500 anymore

so the best bang for the buck ( unmodded that is ) is the 9600 pro

for the 9800SE to 9800Pro mod, does this include the Hercules 3D Prophet 9800SE All-in-Wonder 128Mb ? or only the regular 9800SE cards?
