A64 tuning tips

I bought myself an A64 rig and I must say I'm very impressed with it. I could however need some help tuning it. : )

Parts:
A64 3000+ AEP4AX 0419VPMW stepping
Boxed Cooling (with AS3)
MSI K8N Platimum (NF3)
2*512Mb Twinmos DDR400 CH-5, max speed +- 220mhz 5-3-2 cl2

Currently the best overclock I achieved was 220FSB, MP 10, mem 4/5 aggresive, 4x HT.

I tried 2400mhz, mem 4/5 (200mhz), HT 4x, but my onboard raid array failed quickly. : ( AGP is set to 66mhz, but I've got the feeling the sata raid chip isn't locked at a fixed speed. : /

Processor temperature is 41 idle, 60 stressed.

How do I start tuning this beast?

this is basicly for tuning the mem, normally you would receive a nice boost

what else do you wanna tweak?

AGP - 67mhz / HTT- 201.
overclock with clockgen, no problems with PCI or AGP.

easy as Dell :)

Dell doesn't overclock.

Thanks, that's the tut i was searching for.

I hope I can reach 10*240mhz 5/6mem stable without breaking the raid controller somehow. If anyone got tips, feel free to share. :)

Bah, I have a mobo with K8t800 chip and this chips doest support PCI/AGP freq lock. I reached a FSB of 220Mhz http://home.scarlet.be/~jd019167/sandra2.JPG but there I stopped. Does anyone know how far I can go before it gets unstable?

Gamer 20th August 2004 19:24

trial and error, but I can tell you that most people reach 230mhz before they have troubles.

RichBa5tard 20th August 2004 20:06

It think mine craps out at 230mhz even with a PCI/AGP lock, damn onchip NV raid. : )
