A64 3000+ overclocking Hi all, I currently am overclocking my 3000+ at 2.5 Ghz. Temp never goes above 50 degrees celsius at full load and idles at about 39. I would like to bring it further but anything above 2.6 seems to give me some stability issues on my A8NE mobo. My ram is set to 266 which when oc gives me about 380++ speed (close to DDR400 spec but still below) and HT frq is not a problem at 3X. I am using hyper 6+ heatsink and the vcore is about 1.5 right now. Would water cooling help make a difference? |
up that vcore to 1.6-1.7 (if possible) and try for more. |
I tried that before, doesn;t seem to help stability with higher clocks. Am wondering if better cooling might help. Doesn;t seem to be a heat issue either, maybe that's the maxout already? |
I think you are close to being maxed out with air cooling, going to water cooling of subzero should give you another 100-300Mhz, but to be honest, there are hardly any applications/games which require more than 2ghz A64 to run smooth |
