That's crazy Geoffrey :D |
wow nice score.... i can bench memory at 1050-1060 but my core is stuck @ 805. increasing is bad result, adding vcore is instant bluescreen and reboot. edit: looks like i have to check pressure on gpu, you're aal reporting temps of 60degrees. mine is idle at 53 at peak load above 100.... :( |

ranking updated, average 01/03 on air current standings:
|
Seems like I don't have a score :D. |
me, you and 8 others;) |
Still 9 hours to do something, too bad it's friday evening :partysmilie::drink:. |
Aha found an old result 82.9 fps in 03 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=5502272 Screenshot http://www.cranox.com/7300GT/82-9.JPG |
nice, you are now second:) |
Congratulations Geoffrey, I didn't have the time to rebench the card today. |
Congratz Geoff, very nice win:D |
If my card was not dieing on me then i had a much higher 2003 score , anyway congrats geoffrey. |
yes very nice score from Geoffrey. My core wouldn't pass 805 so i a was stuck. the hints from cranox did help lower temps for about 10degr. and an increase to 815 but still load i was at 95degr i hade better hopes on the zalman 900cu but it idn't satisfy me. I'm going to look for another one for next benches. my scores: 3dmark01: gpu 815 mem 1056 nature score 215fps http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=9246908 3dmark03: gpu 790 mem 1050 nature score 81,5fps http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=5498239 this was all on basic hardware without oc. now i have a new oc rig. it was fun, now i'll try to make some time for hwbot. :) |
:woot: * champagne pops open :drink: Thx guys, I appriciate the flowers :D My initial plans were to get into the extreme cooling category, though the lack of competition drove my back to the good old aircooling category, seems like it suits me just well :) In the end you do must get some luck with your card, if it doesn't scale well then you're just pretty much out of the game. On the other hand, I do think I've squeezed the maximum out of my card, it was artifacting like hell at the scores posted above, highering the voltage or using a better heatsink didn't help me at all. Even the 241FPS score in 3D Mark is unrepeatable, with a Thermalright SLK948 (picture) heatsink I was running around 10°C cooler then with the HR-03, and even with the GPU at +2V the card didn't scale anywhere further, not a single MHz! BIOS mods, anyone bothered....? I did :) The geometry clock could scale just a little bit further then the rest of the GPU, I flashed it 25MHz higher then the GPU vertex shaders, suprisingly it didn't really help getting a new top score, benching near the edge of stability is much like a lottery and it seems that with 241FPS in 3D Mark 2001 I got my lucky shot. Concerning my other hardware, it was a surprise to me that my Abit 650I SLI board could hit 140MHz PCI frequency without troubles. It is known that it has some flaws when it comes down to overclocking, for example I never tried to run 428*7 because I know the board won't do it most of the time, my front side bus was locked at 333MHz instead. Did the highered PCIe clock had an impact? I have no clue really, I got out of time to check out what happened at different PCIe clocks, maybe something for a next compo :) Quote:
Greetings |
:drink: very nice OC Geoffrey, champagne next week :D |
I still had some tweaks to attack Geoffrey, but in the end, he was the one who was the best in the given time. Edit: Doesn't he have to hand in a urine sample to see whether or not he has used EPO? :D |
Nah, he just used 220volts on the card :p Congratz mister... |
congratz witte hope u can use the cf setup :) |
Congrats Geoff !!! I never got around to benching the card, my way of giving you a decent chance to win as well ;) No seriously, I'd never have been in the same league. Congratz again :drink: |
Thank you, all of you :) |
Congratulations :ws: |

Q6600 @ 4GHz, ASUS P5K, 2gb OCZ 4-4-4-10 1T... Most of the time I've the PCIe connection clocked at 110MHz, at that clockspeed I couldn't get my 7300GT clocked anywhere near 900/1050. I didn't touch voltage levels, neither did I change the cooling device, though when running 3D Mark 2001 the system became unstable every time, screen froze after 2 seconds allready. 850/1020 undoable! Through software I upped the PCIe frequency with 10MHz, and what happened? The card suddenly passed 3D Mark 2001 without any issue's, even better... I got it stable at 880/1040! Unfortunatly I can't risk any higher PCIe speed on this setup, but it seems like 140MHz PCIe clock really has helped me getting on first spot. |
interesting find, already with G80 OC similar results were had with PCIe OC |
Damn, have to check the forums more often. Is this contest still going? |
Nope, it's finished :) |
Geoff won:D |
:leet: |
next contest plz :) |
What contest would you like? |
3d lijkt me het meest gelijk strijdent . |
Eerst HWI en dan nog es [M] ^^ :D |
|
new contest soon? :D |
Work in progress ... :) |
ahah good to know ^^ perhaps 9300GT or so :p |
Maybe something faster. We saw an interesting product at Cebit, but there are still few things that need to be discussed first. |
