well; you better have some fine cooling on your card if you wish to push that 6800 to Ultra speeds...

For some reason, when I want to post there or become a member, it tells me I should "write properly"

So I figured, since I can't post there I'd post it here cuz it 'll get noticed here aswell and I can probably get my questions answered here just as well if not better so here goes:

Hey,

I have a lot of questions about the Asus V9999GE to ultra mod :

"once the X Y bridge has been disconnected"
-> This means unsoldering the tiny SMD right?

"and a bridge has joined the E and F"
-> How do you connect them? some solder? silverpaint or window repair kit? the SMD from between X and Y? ...

"the card can be turned into a 6800Ultra. Of course, only after the bios has been flashed"
-> Bios flash AFTER the hardmod correct (just to make sure)? What bios? ASUS V9999 Ultra 2 DT? ASUS V9999 Ultra Deluxe? Other bios? Where do I obtain the bios I need? Will that ultra bios need modding?

"there is no guarantee that the 4 pipelines on the GT will be in mint condition"
-> IF 1 or more pipelines are broken, how do I fix it? Just flash back to the original bios? Or wil I also have to connect X & Y and disconnect E & F again so that the hardware is back to it's original state?

Again, sorry for all those questions but if it's in stock I'm buying this card and I'll try to mod it so I have to be sure how to do it.

Thx in advance,

Kristos

Thx to PCunleash and monk for answering these questions :)

"once the X Y bridge has been disconnected"

ANSWER: yes

"and a bridge has joined the E and F"
-> How do you connect them? some solder? silverpaint or window repair kit? the SMD from between X and Y? ...
ANSWER: Problems may occur if you just connect them, best is to connect E and F through the resistor you took from between X and Y.

"the card can be turned into a 6800Ultra. Of course, only after the bios has been flashed"

ANSWER: Yes, perform the biosflash AFTER you did the hardmod. Any utlra bios wil do. you'll have to look around the web to find one to your liking.

ANSWER: You can't fix it,if 1 or more of the unlocked pipelines are damaged, you're stuck with it.

I think I'll wait for the new rivatuner before I take my chances :)
