533>400FSB P4 wire trick I want to let my gigabyte 845PE motherboard think my 2.4B 533FSB is actually a 100FSB proc, so I can use the 3:4 mem divider. Does anyone knows how? |
?? I didn't know that was possible why do you want to do this, please share :) |

I've got a dozen PC3200 sticks, and i want to test them both on an intel and AMD platform. :) |
uhm you are talking about unlocking/changing the multiplier on a P4 ... :) |
No, i'm just talking about the default FSB of the proc. 400 instead of 533, multi stays the same. I know it's possible. And there's a guide on xtreme... |
if multi stays the same you can just drop the FSB to 100 :p |
No, underclocking in the bios doesn't make the 3:4 mem divider available. Only if the mobo recognizes the proc as a 100FSB one, i can select 3:4. |
didn't knew that i'll remeber that, btw where's the guide to do it |
we are looking for it :) only found wire-trick that will change the voltage.. are you sure that you can the FSB ? |
Aha, found it! thenakedreview Quote:
