I've hardly pushed her, and she's an overclocking mad-woman. I've learned so much lately, and thank to people like jmke who allow me to challange myself, by writing these articles (which means I learn even more in pouring over white-papers, trade journals, etc.) it's all begininnig to pay off. Of course it really is the luck of the draw. I could have gotten any number of 2.4C's which didn't have th overclocking prowess this does. But knowing prior to the relase of the entire line, where that line will pretty-much conclude is exciting. I'm FINALLY going to put this baby in my PrometeiA this weekend (maybe on the Lords day) and let get nice and chilly. Problem is, if I'n not having any temp related problems now, and I/mstill at 1.575V, I'm sure it's my VDIMM holding me back. At 2.8V the OCZ just needs more. Internal rumors have it this DDR really requires 2.75V just to get up in the morning. And this is proving to be true.

1 ghz overclock with that loudassscreaming vantec fan, you'll get 3.8-ish in a prommy anyday :)

Are you running mem at 1:1 5:4 or 3:2?
OC.com did a article showing that lowering the memspeed but increasing the CPU speeds yields better memory scores.

There's also a lot of trouble with getting these boards over 275, even when the rest of the components should. You already got 10MHz lucky.

Unfortunately 3:2. But I hit 300FSB / 3.6GHz 1.575V, and still only 34C on air last night, and almost booted at 4.0GHz 334FSB. I gaurantee I'll reach 4.0GHz on Air tonite, and morrow, she goes in the Prommie.

the advantage of the prommy with the P4 is mainly because you can get extreme low temperatures, even under load. Thereby increasing the overclocking potential and the overall "cool" factor
+ it's not as loud as your aircooling
+ doesn't fluctuate when the case temperature rises/decents

4ghz should be possible if the mobo/ram is willing to :)

Actaully what's holding me back currently is the 865PE NorthBridge, of this I'm positive. Because even at 300FSB 5:4 ratio is 200MHz memory speed, and because I also benched it at 1.525Vcore last nite, just before I shut down. I've been overvolting the dam thing. I had my AC on the same line last night, and was afraid of dip's and peaks, but then I tried the same clock at 1.550V, and again at 1.525V, so if the chip is running at 36C at 1.575 at 3622MHz, it's no where near being tapped out. Of course I am going to put it in my Prometeia, I'd just been procrastinating, because I had to write an article on the SLK900U, and PCPower&Cooling 400W. My Antec True Power 480W is in the Prommie because it has a better 12V rail, and not only the Promieteia feeds off the 12V line, but so does it's heater core on the back of the mainbaord, and the Tyan Tachyon G9700 Pro.

Anyway I'm going to remove the "thermal pad" from the NB, and apply AS3 or something. By the way jmke check your Email
