Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu weight - Help pls :) --------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After I read that the maximum weight for a P4 heatsink should be around 450g - and saw the weight of the Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu (around 773grams) I was shocked!

Will it damage the CPU. In the Zalman site I read that I should pay attention when moving my case. Does this mean I should remove the FHS wenever I go for a LAN or move my case? - I think it will loose some performance since the thermal paste is moved when the FHS is moved - don't know what to do exactly - I really need that cooler!!

Thanks :hello:

they would recommend to remove it, I never did however. and tht's on a AMD platform with even lower weight tolerance.

hmmm and you have the all copper one ej? (bdw sure the amd tollerence is less?)

I think I should put it horizantally when moving it around in my car tough. Anyway thanks m8 :D

At least I have some proof by someone who actually has it !

I have the Zalman CU, never any issues encountered, the mounting material is pretty sturdy
