Default Q: WC Pumps?

Hi guys.
Some time ago I've allready posted a thread concerning WC pumps.

Well, here's another one:
I've ordered myself a hydor L30 at tweakstore, but they can't get it anymore, so they offered me a Swiftech MCP-600-02 .

Now I strongly doubt the quality of the pump, I mean, the quality will be fine, but compared to the hydor/eheim 1250, the performance I guess will be very weak.
The reason why I think so is that it is fed with a molex connector, in comparison to 220volts ...
It allso pushes 600litres per hour, instead of 1200 for the hydor.

Is there anyone who's got experience with this pump? because I can't seem to find any good reviews using google.

Which one do you guys think is best?
(it will be used with a LR Cascade, a Maze 4 GPU block and a BIX2 radiator)

Thanks in advance,

Regards,
Bored

Swiftech pumps are very good, but a 600l/h is no match for a 1200l/h

ordered me one of those, new revision, more powerfull than eheim 1048 and works on a molex, old revision had the same ammount of power as 1046

The MCP600 is one of the best WC pumps actually available...
Yes it's a 12VDC pump and yes it can be fed directly from a molex connector, and it's a lot smaller than a Eheim 1250.
In a common WC setup it WILL outperform a Hydor L30 AND a Eheim 1250 (not by much but it will), and it draws only 9Watts@12V (vs 27-28W for the L30 and the 1250).
Don't let mislead you by zero head flow rates as provided by most pump manufacturers (ex.1200LPM) as they mean nothing in real world conditions (this is the max theorethical flow rate with NO restriction - even no pumphouse!!!).
The max flow rate for the MCP600 is given WITH the 1/2" barbs included.

More important for a WC pump is head (the abilility to pump against flow restriction). And the MCP600 has lots of it (3.2m vs 2m for an Eheim 1250 and 1.95m for an L30).

I use Cathar's Cascade WB myself and I can tell you it's a very flow rate restrictive block, so you certainly will have a benefit of the higher head of the MCP600.

There are several good threads about the MCP600 at Procooling and Overclockers Australia.

Some of the earlier MCP600's had an issue with the impeller bearings, issues that have been resolved by Swiftech in version 2 (the one tweakstore is proposing to you).

With no doubt at all: BUY IT !!! You won't regret it...
