I've worked on the system until 4.00 AM this morning, about the best I can get is -41.6°C evap temp with 50W load and -46°C unloaded, this with completely no insulation.

I have to the put it on the 9700 Pro though for further tweaking, I beleive the cap tube is a little too short for the small load of the peltier.

First of all, just before I left Jort's place, we noticed there was a small leak in the suction line.
Because I had no oxygen bottles left, I had to repair with a little butane/propane torch

Some soap testing after the leak was repaired:
