One hot maxtor Since a could almost burn my finger on the maxtor 120 SATA chips, I checked their tems (using my aerogate II temp sensors). My conclusion, this thing is HOT  and it realy needs some cooling. Maxtor idle: |
and load (few runs of Sisoft Sandra + HDtach and then running avast antivirus). //edit: hm, need to resize those pics  , man, I hate lycos, offline again :grum: //edit2; resized, much better :D |
since you have it upsd, spit on it every once in a while :super: |
i have a own made wc hdd block i have to put it in because i going to buy an maxtor 200gb s-ata hdd i'll post some pics of it tomorrow. |
use a fan for hdd cooling, a waterblock kinda thing will not cool the little chips that need to be cooled. i strongly advise you to cool the hdd because its one of the most temperature sensitive things around. (50° is high , 55° is too high) |
it's not my drive, it's here because it got f*cked and it took powermax about an hour to find a problem and 2 secs to fix it :D . I wonder when this one is going to die (already had 2 of them, first was doa, second just stoped working :grum: ). |
