Default Look what I found today while working

Hello guy's, look what I found today @ work.
In the basement of a cultural center, where I need to do a reparation I discovered this. From the pictures here and other forums, I remember it was maybe usefull to make something cold.

Other view:

I asked the owner what he will do with it, and he just said to me "just grab it, we build a new fridgerator unit, and its useless to me"
So I told my companion (I was busy) to grab it, and take it to our van

Can someone tell me what the "tube" in the middle is(between radiator and compressor) and the small tube (where the pipe stops)?

that's the schem of a cascade. we're talking about a single unit here

the tube between radiator (condensor) and compressor is the capillary tube. the tube with the dead end is used to (re)fill the unit

so?

it still uses the same components...

and doesn't the capilary tube go straight from the compressor to the evaporator head?
