Default Klax Graph-O-Matic on a radeon card??

i'm planning on ordering this block for cooling my GPU (till a find a better performing one.

couple of pic's:

when i searched google i found this:
Quote:
The installing of the waterblock on the radeon 9700pro was the trickiest part because there was somekind of metal ring around the GPU which prevented to let the coolingblock touch the GPU completly. So i removed that carefully with a sharp knife.
now , my radeon 9600pro arrives soon so i want to make sure it could be fitted without! voiding warranty.

can i use something as a heatspreader? but wouldn't this affect cooling power alot?

a little bit, yes. lap it well and use good thermal paste and the loss won't be too serious

that gpu-cooler is serious CR*P, I have it myself and it's the first thing that's going to be replaced in my wc-setup

say anything that has a copper top, cools wel and you can get within 2 weeks and i want to buy it. (and has 1/2 fittings or at least 1/4 fittings size, meaning where you screw in the fitting)

tweakstore.nl is going to get the D-tek northbridge and gpu blok in a couple of weeks/ months but then school has started and i'm not going to have alot of time then.

Recent hercules 9600 cards don't have the shim anymore.

Can't say about the rest.
