| Hot chipset Hi I got another problem When stressed my northbridge gets warmer then my cpu. When I'm playing mohaa, it crashes after x minutes. I think it's the hot northbridge that causes this. I've put some artic silver between it, but it doesn't get better. I also checked if the fan is well placed. Any other tips? |

| You may need better NB heatsink. I installed 40mm fans on both Asus Board; otherwise they won't go over 245 FSB using Prescott CPU.

| Yeah stock cooler like on this photo. I had to format a couple of days ago and then I noticed this problem. I took the cooler of and removed the thermal pad that was on it and put ASIII on it. But that didn't help. Before format I could play mohaa rockstable at 255 fsb. It was also hot, but it was stable. Now all sorts of programs crash (mohaa, norton) when oced. I haven't test the maximum yet but I play on stock (200 FSB)now. |

| I know, I have three Abit boards; IS7 and two IC7 with the same NB heatsinks. For some reason, they work fine with Northwood but not Prescott.

| Aargh, I don't get it. I cleaned it well, put new paste on it, tried without paste but it's still the same thing. Everything standard (stressed temps): CPU: 40° NB: 38 ° Case is open !! Anyone got a good cooling solution that wil not interfear with my upcomming XP-120? |

| Most of the time the second sensor is not the northbridge sensor, but a sensor somewhere in between the mosfets, which become hotter then your cpu...

| Maybe I should put something on my mostfets then? I got a heatsink from an old graphics card. If I cut those in blocks an put them on the mostfets with thermal adhesive would that help? |
