| I've checked the specsheet and at 9V, with deltaT 40°, it draws about 15A, that's about 135W of power that it draws. So, cooling performance is probably below 135W. It's still a lot of power to be cooled with 2 heatsinks (including CPU heat, it has a total heat output of 300W, if the ambient temp is 20° that means that deltaT is 26° and the heatsinks have a C/W ratio of 0,087; that is 2 times better as a watercooling kit ...). If my calculations are correct of course Quick reverse calculation: Let's assume the two heatsinks have a C/W ratio of 0,2 . In his initial testings, the hot plate is at 33,8°, so with 20° ambient temp, deltaT is 14°. 14/0,2 = 70W, so 35W per TEC. Last edited by wutske : 12th April 2008 at 13:13. |

Because of the module running warmer, efficiency is increased, the module might require less current and consume less too.
