Zalman HD160 HTPC Enclosure Review

With the HD160 Zalman is expanding their product range, this HTPC enclosure is of high quality and aims to deliver a good balance between cooling and noise generation; it has support for full size ATX motherboards, and comes with a VFD display and Windows Media Center remote control.

other alternatives for Windows MCE are plentiful, but one which really stands out is [g]MythTV[/g]

I recently bought thus case but i'm having a problem setting up the remote control. In the manual it says you can power on the PC using the remote control. Have you been able to do this? With my setup the remote works ok in Windows but the power button on the remote has no effect at all.

no it didn't work here either

Do you have win XP media center edition ?

yes i do. the remote works ok in MCE, apart from the power button. In the Zalman case manual though it says the remote can power on the PC, so this would mean it should be able to do this regardless of the OS

that's what I understood from their manual too;

Found out how to get the remote working to boot the PC up. You need to programme the power button on the remote first in the IRTrans Client software. See this article for instructions...
