The TCCD-pire Strikes Back? Athlon 64 S754 Memory Roundup I did some overtime, but I finally finished this roundup, read on to find out WHY it took me so long:) We compared 5 different Samsung TCCD powered memory modules, discovering some surprising performance differences between them. To give these new TCCD chips a worthy competitor we also included results from Winbond BH-6 running with high VDIMM. How do they fair on an A64 S754 platform? The most timing consuming article on record??:) Excellent work!! You must be feeling better now.:) |
so my adata vitesta should be just fine at 2 sticks if the socket 939 does the same thing as socket 754. |
it seems that the S939 A64 on-die memory controller copes much better with dual memory modules installed, which would be logical as it's meant for dual channel;) |
let's hope so. great article JMke ! |
thank you Gamer, be prepared, 13/12. :) |
Thanks for the review! I just thought to say that im reaching 310 with 7-3-3-2.5 with a single 512 stick A.data ddr600 with my dfi 250gb.. with 2.8 volts.. prime95 stable for atleast 4 hours... but maybe its my sempron mem controller..? Dunno.. |
it's mostly related to on-die memory controller of the CPU indeed.. but I see you are running at "2T" my tests were done at 1T , which makes a huge difference in memory bandwidth;) |
2T ain't a good performer on the s754 chipset ;), dump it. A lower fsb with 1T will be better ;). |
2T is no good performer, period. :) |
