Just noticed (or perhaps i'm just blind):
the 'family pc' has no motherboard included.

Vorda 2nd July 2003 22:00

Indeed, lol

jmke 2nd July 2003 22:03

correct! it has been fixed =)

ChildeRoland 7th August 2003 02:13

And oc'ers don't need a monitor apparently :)

warre 7th August 2003 08:21

and by the watercooled pc: 2*512MB DDR for the price of 1*512

jmke 7th August 2003 08:24

but in the menu 1000 €

jmke 21st October 2003 18:22

FreeStyler 21st October 2003 19:39

and as far as I know the only ATA maxtor drives with over 1 year of warranty is the maxline plus series.
The diamondmax plus 9 has only one, not three.

jmke 21st October 2003 20:52

incorrect :p

Maxtor DiamondMax Plus ATA drives that have an 8MB cache buffer AND capacities of 120GB or greater will carry a Standard Warranty Period of 3 years. All other DiamondMax Plus drives will carry a Standard Warranty Period of 1 year.

I found 2 'little' mistakes:

CDRW MSI 52/24/52 Black Retail + soft € 0
(@ Low budget Pc)

CTX P922E LCD 19' TFT € 0
(@ high budget pc)

jmke 31st October 2003 15:32

no mistakes my friend, means the product price has not been updated in the last 30 days @ www.prijswatch.be , where the HW components and prices are gathered from.

in the end we only try to provide a list of componenst who at the time of writing the guide fitted in the budget. As hardware prices change almost every other day.

We are aware that the €0 is an eye catcher in the list, but we like to keep things dynamic around here, so if ever someone updates the prices in the www.Prijswatch.be of that particular product, it will also reflect in the systemguides ! :)

thx :D
love ya :)

[Bonbon] 29th January 2004 14:43

edit :

@ the budget pc :
DVDRW NEC ND-1300A BLACK € 113.17

@ the 1200 € pc :
DVDRW NEC ND-1300A € 99

is this correct ?

jmke 29th January 2004 15:39

maybe to fit the case & looks :)

[Bonbon] 29th January 2004 16:27

was also my first thought ,
but personally i dont think 'looks' fit in the 'low budget' profile , if it costs more.
better spend it on a faster cpu then.

just my 2 cents

Vorda 30th January 2004 09:53

is the purchase of a 64bit cpu worth it?

espec when amd is going to release its new cpu design?

actually, my question is: should I buy my (32 bit PIV) now, or w8 till amd got that new chipset/cpu and then buy a (more expensive) 64bit system?

jmke 30th January 2004 11:21

if you buy a PC now and want to keep it for 1-2 years, then yes, the current 64bit CPU from AMD will do.

if you change hardware every 6 months, wait for socket 939.
