SilverStone SST-30NF - Passive 300Watt PSU

This passive Power Supply incorporates heat pipes to get rid of the generated heat, without active components its a premier choice for any silent setup, but does it pack enough punch to power the latest hardware?

you don't like your eggs raw do you?

This passive PSU becomes quite hot (65+°C) but nowhere close to a boiling point. It was powering a pretty hefty system too!

Overclocked A64
Vmodded R9800XT
2x HD
2x CDrom

during stress testing the temp rose quite high, with a room temperature of 20-22°C... but the PC never experienced crashes or instabilities, those heatsinks inside the PSU are doing their job well!

do note that the egg does not boil on the PSU :)

@Teus: what kitchen? We did not drop the PSU in a pan and try to fry it...

TeuS 16th May 2004 22:40

you might fry the PSU (or PC) while trying to fry the egg :)
