"Power Factor" has to do with how resistive a load is compared to reactive. It has nothing to do with how efficient it converts the power from AC to DC. Efficiency may not seem like a big deal. But if your PC is pulling 200W DC, an 80% efficient PSU will be using 250W total vs. 285W total for a PSU that is 70% efficient. That's an extra 35W of heat that is being added to the system and that needs to be removed to keep everything running cool.

Power factor doesn't mean much to the user. Unless you have a UPS. But it's good for other reasons. As it wastes less energy on the power grid. Some countries require Power factor correction in computer PSUs for this reason.
