A guide to improvised mounting of Prometia and Vapochill on AMD A64/FX51

In due time cpu kits will be offered from both nVentiv and Asetek for the the AMD A64/FX51 mb's.
But for those of us that don't want to wait, we must improvise !

I think it is a backplate for mounting your heatsink , this is how it looks to me, and MJ also posted it ;)

He used the extra back plate that came with his cpu as the hold down for the promie head

Yes, its just a back plate for the heat sink mounting bracket to reduce flex and distribute pressure more evenly. It's part of the AMD socket 940/754 design specifications.

I'm at 26k right now, need a new bios from Asus to let get get my fsb over 260mhz ! stuck ya know ;)

All the ram I have won't work right on A64 at 1:1 either, which will be ok once they fix the fsb limitation anyway.
