Is it a metallic base?

leeghoofd 26th November 2009 10:31

Yep it's darn heavy, no alu for sure... will finish that review next week, using it a the moment testbed for the nations cup...

I can't tell from the pics...is it single tier or more than one?

Also, since it is metallic, will you take heat measurements?

jmke 26th November 2009 13:57

single tier; I think it's this one: http://www.dimastech.it/IT/c/banchet...hard-v20-inox/

Single tier, why do I need to take heat measurements ? As it's an open setup, for benching/testing purposes

jmke 26th November 2009 18:49

and we all know that without active airflow some parts can get HOT;
HDD especially; and some parts of the mobo
inside a case there is airflow over everything

leeghoofd 26th November 2009 19:11

On a benchtable you add fans over the critical hot spots (ram, NB and PWM's)... noone's gonna buy a benchtable to run their daily setup on...

jmke 26th November 2009 21:03

Faiakes does, that's why he asks;)

leeghoofd 26th November 2009 21:10

Willl use the Gene II then as it has got temp readouts for IOH and co... yet when benching I always add fans to anything I can cool lol :p

Thanks leeghoofd

I ask because the HSPC Tech station is made of a special plastic to avoid conductivity.
However, that has no heat extraction benefits, which is what the test bench might have.

leeghoofd 13th December 2009 15:46

Which readouts ya need mate ? CPU, NB and SB ? and eventually the table temps itself ?

Faiakes 13th December 2009 16:36

I don't want to put you out.
As long as you take some readings so I can have a reference point.
