| I'm very satisfied about the X-Connect PSU. I installed it right after Dur0n returned it to me. There is only 1 problem. I installed it into a Coolermaster WaveMaster. The ATX connector thet plugs into the PSU is so big, I needed to push the PSU in with full force to be able to screw the backplate to the case. OK, now u would say, cut a piece out of it but I didn't feel like doing that at that time About the alround performance, I'm very satisfied, lines never drop under 12v, 5v or 3v. As long as it works, I'm satisfied and the price ain't that bad either. Modguru has them for € 104.99 excl. transport. They are about the only ones in the Benelux selling the X-Connect PSU's. |

| I have Hiper Type-R 580W (HPU-4B580-MU) Got it long before this review. I saw other reviews on the net and was impressed from it, so I bought it for 119 euros here in Greece. I have contacted Lawrence Lo and asked many things! 1. The PSU CAN support 2xNV7800GTX SLi Lawrence :“We have 2 x 12V rails with a combined 38A (20A+18A). I have checked with nVidia and for 2 x 7800 SLi graphics card, you will need a 500W+ PSU and the 12V rail needs to be at least 34A. Samples are with nVidia and in the process of having our products certified. Initial models of HPU-4B580 and HPU-4K580 only have 1 x PCI-E connector. It is just that the blue sold quicker, so the stock rotated to the new version with 2 x PCI-E quicker. The new version is just a PCI-E that connects to the molex, similar to those bundled with the graphics card.“ I asked this cause I saw this review http://www.planetamd64.com/index.php?showtopic=9102 and the guy there says that it does NOT support 2x7800GTX SLi. I am trying to contact with him! 2. I asked about the SATA power connectors: -(me)The SATA power specifications show that there is a 3.3V connection that is absence in your product. Why? -(L.L.)None of the SATA HDD currently requires 3.3V, which is why you will find many PSU that piggy backs off the molex connectors for SATA connectors. -(me)Yes I know that currently there is no use of this rail, BUT what about the future. They put it there because they are going to use it, I think. Do you have any information about the future use of this rail (3.3V) in SATA power connectors? You should know cause you are in contact with these people who make the specifications. -(L.L.)We do not make the specifications for SATA. Actually, a group of companies (Dell, HP, Hitachi, Intel, Maxtor and Seagate) set the standard together for others to follow. Even Seagate who is a board member for Serial ATA have a SATA to molex convertor (http://www.seagate.com/support/presa...ta_cables.html). This shows that current SATA HDD does not require 3.3V, but I do understand your point. When the time comes, our PSU will be upgraded to have 3.3V on the SATA connector. |
