Antec TRUE330PEC TruePower 330W ATX Power Supply €78 is a more expensive PSU AOpen = cheaper. that's what Vulk meant :) |
Modded superflower 400W overhere, not a bad psu and it came free with a case I bought some time ago. |
I also bought this supply, because i didn't like the old loud el-cheapo one. I really recognize the suprize when it showed to be illuminated, and so silent :) It fits perfectly in my case, I guess the reviewers' case isn't fully complying the ATX regulation. I think about modding some trimmers in, to adjust the voltages, but i didn't find any guides for it yet, anyone has an idea?? |
Test it with a multimeter? |
my 350watt is not that silent :) sometimes it is but when i was stressing it when i had 5HD's it became verry noisy :) well let's hope i win the acryan contest, could use it :P |
Test with a multimeter - after and before the board. Some boards are undervolted despite good voltage from PSU. But, it normally applies to 12 volt rail only. |
P4P800 Deluxe where the Hot Potato sits using FSP 350 Watts; 12 Volt rail MBM5 during load down to 11.25 Volt no crash; Tester reports 11.73 volt. So, this poor low performance PSU ain't as bad. IC7 with 2.8C; 400 Watts Macron; MBM is telling me a good 12 volt rail at 11.85 under load; tester reports 11.55 Volt. Sometimes voltage reading from mother board is no difference than temp reading; "they" got you by the balls. I wonder why do we measure if the measurement/equipment used is inconsistent. I used a three pin to 4-pin molex; connected the 3-pin to the board and probed the 4-pin Molex. |
These aopen's are pretty good for what they cost, we use them standard in cases that come without PSU and never had a single problem with them. |
PSU pricings have been dropping in recent years. Anyone remember the cost of a 180 Watts? I was looking at one in the basement; came from my 486 33mhz (turbo button) I built in 1992. The price tag (tap) read $75. They simply cannot afford any resistors, capacitors, diodes with the tight tolorance at this price range. The difference between +/-10%; +/-5 and +/-3% is big in costs. Anyway, I have Aopen (FSP) and HEC both have been producing PSU longer than some recent brands. Unfortunately, both are at the low end of the specs. If you don't OC, they provide decent performance. Don't forget the label says +/-5% (12.6 - 11.4 volt is within specs). |
i have an aopen 350 watt and it doesn't undervolt, above you see a screenshot from that psu with an nf7-s rev1.1 and it whas the mobo who undervolted now with an rev2 they are stable it's an quite ( as in unhearable ) and descent |
