Thermalright SP-97
 

Thermalright has adapted the SP-94 to fit your Socket A setup, it looks very promising to say the least.

Expect a review of this heatsink, I'll be comparing it to the Swiftech MCX462-V, Thermalright's current top SocketA sink: SLK-947U and the Zalman CPNS7000CU

tweaking my benchsystem now so I can provide up to 100Watt of heat!

(Tbird 1.4 @ 1.6 - 1.9v vcore!)

I am waiting for the results.
I thoughed to buy the Zalman CPNS7000A-CU and wondered if the Thermalright SP-97 could have a better performance.
So I am waiting, and will decide based on your test results.

Room temp 21°C
Fan is 80mmx25mm

Tbird 1.4@1533 using 1.9 vcore = 92Watt (that 15+ more then the current top end Athlon XP CPU)

using burnk7.exe (pretty intensive little proggy that heats up the CPU very fast)

Load temp: 45°C @4500rpm (loud!)
Load temp: 58.5°C @1500rpm (very silent!)

SLK-947U

Load temp: 47°C @4500rpm (loud!)
Load temp: 61.5°C @1500rpm (very silent!)

ah crap :( :grum: Thought I had the "A" version here, but it's the P4 only one :-/

I will see if I can get my hands on the "A" version, but I don't have high hopes.

I'm getting some funky results, going to reinstall the MCX462-V..

Load temps: 52.5°C @ 4500rpm
SP97 => 45°C at same fanspeed...
