AMD 3500+ Mid-Range CPU - AM2 vs S939 Comparison Last week AMD launched their new AM2 platform, we take a look at what performance difference you can expect at the mid-range side of things, with the help of local computer shop Forcom we compared two AMD 3500+ systems, one based on AM2 one on Socket 939 http://www.madshrimps.be/gotoartik.php?articID=454 |
Nice article, interesting facts. :) |
*puts on his "wait for Conroe shirt"* |
Memory compatibility issue? |
might be something related to timings |
awefull performance imo , this is a newly released and hardly equals the performance of S939 :puke: , i wonder how ppl can say AM2 is good :hello: |
it's good in the sense that the platform (mobo/cpu/memory) can be had for the same price as S939. But it's not an upgrade choice as there is no performance increase at this time |
The step towards DDRII has to be taken eventually. Improvement will be made from now on. Certainly, products from the "blue team" will be very interesting in the next few months. Our [M] staffs have been saying to spend your money in graphic cards instead :D |
what about heat , can u confirm it is "cooler" then s939 |
With the same cooler we didn't notice any difference worth mentioning, the 3500+ in either AM2 or S939 version puts out approximately the same amount of heat |
