Aalraajt.
BDke has installed his SLK800U with a 80mm YS-tech cooler.
Difference between the intel stock cooler is that the SLK800U is very heavy and looks awesome.

I'll post some test results.

Intel Stock Cooler
Idle
- Not oc'ed -> 42°
- Oc'ed (2.53@2983) -> 55°
100% Load during 10 minuts
- Not oc'ed -> 55°
- Oc'ed (2.53@2983) -> 63°

Thermalrigh SLK800U with YS-tech 80mm
Idle
- Not oc'ed -> 38°
- Oc'ed (2.53@2983) -> 41°
100% Load during 10 minuts
- Not oc'ed -> 45°
- Oc'ed (2.53@2983) -> 52°

All test are runned with a Intel P4 2.53 on Asus P4PE.
During overclocking the fsb went to 158mhz and Vcore @ 1.625v
ROCKSTABLE.
Now my P4 is running @ 2850mhz without touching the Vcorce (1.5v) ROCKSTABLE!!!!!

While oc'ing with the intel stock cooler I had to use 1.650v cause it wouldn't run stable enough.

This is a small user experience with the SLK800u.

Questions?
just ask

did you use the same compound for both heatsinks (with other words: not the thermal pad) ?

I used the same compound yes.
It's low budget. I got it from a friend but i am going to buy some arctic silver soon.
The temp may drop some more.
And then i'll put 3*120mm papst fans in my case for an optimal airflow and i hope that will cool of the cpu as well

I'm a little confused, does my Swiftech MX-462 still stands it ground, or is it become oldfashion and I should change cooling?

if it still stands ground, why bother spending money on something you don't need? buy something else instead and purchase a new cooler when needed

ok, i'm going to buy a new cooler. Now i have a zalman with a amd xp 2000+ (palomino ). I had to lower my Vcore (now 1.675) because of the temps (now - normal use with folding- cpu: 58°).

i don't know which HS to buy. I doubt between a slk800 or slk900. Is the difference big between a slk800 and an slk900u (with zalman fan deliverd with my old cooler - CNPS6000CU )

another advantage or ...

SLK800 to SLK900
blowing air through fans doesn't blow hot air towards grafix card with 800 and does with 900
casefan comes more handy with 800 than 900

on the other hand
900 blows wind towards PSU with fan on bottom but hey we use a backcasefan , don't we!
