I don't think with/without shroud will help much in the temps, I have never noticed a remarkable difference between the 2 setups. fan from the side: any old case which has a fan at the back of the PC can be turned around to pull in air over the heatsink, recreating the "silent casefan" setup =) the PAL8045 is just not up to par anymore. I'm testing the SP-97 and MCX462-V now, and the Pal8045 is left behind by more then 10-15°C ! |
on such high CFM fans it might not differ much since that would restrict the airflow but on low flow setups it might.... (like the setup i have atm). You'll be probably right tho... im not much of an overclocker... i own apacer ram :) edit: btw... do u reckon i could get my new avatar up here? its 55kb, 10k over your size...hosted on telenet server so downtime is almost none.... |
