hmm seen enough forumthreads of people using water in a alu/cu watercooling setup where there was corrosion :-/

=)

strange, cause i didn't have any corrosion on my system at all (had it for about a year).

Use distilled water. If you are mixing types of metals (copper block with aluminium rad, etc...) then you should add Water Wetter, or Purple Ice, or some other such corrosion inhibitor. If it's all copper, then you can use pure distilled water.

For normal H20 cooling (no pelts, etc.) the best liquid is water. Antifreeze will actually raise your temps - very bad at heat transfer. Anyway, I would only use antifreeze for corrosion protection (if you have copper and aluminum) but if you run all copper, water and water wetter or purple ice or Hy-per Lube would be best.

Water wetter is mainly to stop corrosion and bacteria. I have run plain distilled water and noticed corrosion on my metal components. Everyone has their favorite mix but I would strongly suggest some kind of additive....even soap as stated above for bacteria.

yah, ok true, i thought there was at least some kind of additive in that cooler as well.

what i was trying to say is that a lot of people think that even with a coolingfluid or waterwetter your CU will be eaten away when you mix metals in a H20 setup, and that's not true.

mmm, even if you don't mix metals you should use an additive, cause destilled water ain't 100% bugfree eather, nor are your cables, nor are any of the other parts in ur H20 setup.
