![]() | ![]() It's a passively cooled heatsink for high end graphics cards made by a group of women with aerospace engineering knowledge. They've named their first creation, the Condor, we find out if it prevents our VGA card's temperatures from soaring too high. http://www.madshrimps.be/gotoartik.php?articID=477

| ![]() Isn't AC working on a passive cooler as well? How does it compare to active aftermarket coolers? Will it be included in the x1900 cooler review? |

![]() | ![]() A) yes, the Accelero S series, no release date announced yet B) in what aspect? it's passive, all others are actively cooled. They may beat the price/performance ratio though; this cooler IS for the extreme silence enthusiast. C) no the model I received was for 7900 series and I managed to break it :/ (hence the *watch out when bending the heatpipes* in bold remark in the review)

| ![]() Well, the Accellero X2 is already close to silent at 100% therfore going passive doesn't yield much of an improvement but it might get killer performance with a 120mm fan attached to it. |

![]() | ![]() I will see if I can do some VF900 tests on the 7900GT, will report back in this thread. The VF900 is extremely easy to install, no screw driver needed ![]()

| ![]() X-Bit labs tested the VF900 against the X1900XTX and got 83C with fan at full speed, which is about 7C under the stock. http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coo...0cu-led_6.html This is the same temp that Aerocase recorded using the passive Condor with only the case fans for cooling. http://www.aero-case.com/stresstest2.html I could only guess that a 7900GT would be about the same, with the Condor matching the VF900 (But that would be a great match-up test wouldn't it!) |

GPU: 59°C // CPU: 50°C // Chipset: 44°C this was with the Zalman @ 5V where it drops below the noise level of the case fans. The 7900GT is not a "hot beast" like the X1900XTX and is even easier to cool than the 7800GT
