I think 4.7-4.8 is maximum even on ln2 now even at 2.2 volts

Default overclocking help

guys, i'm confused about my computer. i have an HP 2.80 ghz pentium 4 ht w/ 800 mhz fsb. I dont know how to overclock this computer, or if its feasible. I have 1548mb dual channel ram w/ 160gb sata hard drive running on windows xp pro. Anyone that can help, i'd greatly appreciate it!!

You cannot and no one can overlock OEM machines.

OEM = HP, Compaq, Gateway, eMachine, Sony, Dell.

Why? Very simple -

1) How can they make money if they sell you a 2.8 and you take it home and run it @3.2?
2) Overclocking can mess things up .... you will be chasing after HP for warranty repair.

In fact, most of the OEM motherboards don't have any temp sensors. The less the customers know, the less questions raised.

yeah dude, OEMs are a no-no o/c

i've tried to fight it forever

...thus is why i built my own computer...

cuz of the shiny lights
