We Give Away four Ultra Power Supplies

8 Attachment(s)
We are giving away:
3x 600W Ultra X-Pro 600W EE (US/Canada)
1x Ultra X3 1000W (Europe)

The kind folks of Ultra gave us four products to divide amongst our readers. The first three are for US/Canada resident, three 600W Ultra X-Pro Energy Efficient units:

HardOCP put this unit through their torture test with these results:
Excluding the failure during Test #4 (~100% load at 45c) the Ultra X-Pro 600w EE did really well. The unit exhibited excellent output voltage with very little drop through 75% load and it showed good efficiency at ~80 or better.

The output voltages on the Ultra X-Pro 600W EE were at all tests that the unit passed extremely good with the unit barely registering any changes through 75% of its rated capacity. At the same time the unit did maintain at least ~80% efficiency at 120v input through test 3 (75% load) and at least ~79% efficiency at 100v input through test 3 (75% load). However, under our testing parameters the unit never quite met the labeled 85% efficiency as documented in the user manual. This failure could be due to the difference in temperature at which the unit was rated or due to it being measured at a higher input voltage as the unit is a full range power supply and higher input voltages often result in higher efficiency.
If you have an overclocked Core 2 Quad system with two HD 2900 XT cards you might reach 600W full load, any single card system will not pass the 500W mark though.

The second unit from Ultra is the X3 rated at 1000W it's made for SLI systems, it can be won by any European resident:

HardOCP was again first to test this unit and they had this to say:
The Ultra X3 proved itself to be an impressive power supply on a number of fronts during our testing. The Ultra X3 provides a true 1000W fully modular power supply that is cooled by a single 135mm fan in a very attractive package. Couple the physical and performance metrics we have seen today with Ultra's Lifetime warranty (after registration), and the $289.99 price tag, and we are left with a power supply that truly is a good deal in comparison to the other 1000W units currently on the market.
