Forum upgrade to latest vBulletin

What do ya think of the new forums? like the added functionality, gimmicks & features? or were you more fond of the old one?

Are the things you like to see added/changed/removed? Let us know :)

I miss this link.
I know it's under Quick Links, but that one click too much :d .
I must say I'm not a fan of the digg stuff. I still prefer direct links to news/stuff/...
Cosmetics needs some upgrade too, but you're probably already doing that :) .

The most important thing to remember tough is, people do not like changes big changes.

that link is smack in the middle of the toolbar, next to calendar & search, called "new posts" :)

the Digg etc stuff is but an RSS feed bot, it's also no replacement for the webnews, but rather an addition

will look into it, thought it was ok at 1024 width...

it looks ok at 1024+ that's for sure;)

jmke 27th November 2006 08:11

old bookmarks to threads in the other forums should now auto forward to the correct /vbulletin new forum thread...

RSS news feeds are annoying, there are so many of them that you'll easily look over a not-news related topic.
't is gelijk we zeggen: door het bos de bomen niet zien.

Ps. no smiley's anymore ?

jmke 28th November 2006 18:17

what do you mean with "no smilies"

again.. the RSS feed != main new feed, for the filtered news there's the main webnews forum :)

@ Bosw8er: background reverted, TFT at work is crap at producing colors, now at home on higher end 20" LCD I can see the :gay: side too

wutske 28th November 2006 22:18

sorry for the vague "no smileys" :) .
When writing a reply, there used to be a collection of smileys on the left of the text box, now these are gone.

Now, my problem with the RSS stuff is, when I press the "New Posts" button, I get 99% RSS-feed posts and 1% other.

I wonder what these are? ;)

(smilies only appear on the full "post reply" view... like before http://www.madshrimps.be/vbulletin/n...ote=1&p=135328)

not in opera

jmke 29th November 2006 09:10

try again, the problem was that in your profile you select "basic message box" instead of WYSIWYG or advanced editor
http://www.madshrimps.be/vbulletin/p...do=editoptions

apparently all imported users have this option set to "basic" ... will see if I can fix this

jmke 29th November 2006 09:37

alrighty, it's fixed :)

The Senile Doctor 29th November 2006 19:01

same thought here, there should be a possibility to choose between
1. threads with new human replies...
2. mr robot threads...

jmke 30th November 2006 06:50

ok, I listen to our readers... I'll delay the bot a bit, less = more.
