Fold !

Let's see how much cpu-power the madshrimps have ! Let's NOT waste all the empty cycles of our systems ... Let's do something usefull with that highly OC'ed rig !

We are joining the Xtreme systems folding team :
http://www.statsman.org/folding2stats/3365.html

As there are a lot of Belgian hardware guys here, the first objective should be to take over the "Dutch power cows"

... and let's see see how high we can get inside the team.

Download the client here

Results, papers, and what exactly has come from our efforts!

What the hell is folding anyways? Check it here...

... install it ...

... fill in [MADshrimp]-nickname
... fill in 3365

and you are ready !

NICE !

core download problems = firewall problems ? Try quiting the client, re-configure the firewall and start it back up.

Did you fill in the connections tab correctly ?

The Senile Doctor 21st November 2002 15:47

yup, everything filled out correctly but no core download errors persist.
I'm in Madshrimps team 3365, but he keeps givng me those errors

log : "+ Downloading new core: FahCore_65.exe
- Error: HTTP GET returned error code 0
+ Error: Could not download core
+ Core download error (#3), waiting before retry..."

Bosw8er 21st November 2002 15:56

Which firewall ?

RichBa5tard 21st November 2002 16:21

telenet:

add proxy.pandora.be port 8080, otherwise you'll get the error you described.

The Senile Doctor 21st November 2002 16:49

JBELL 21st November 2002 18:20

great idea guys and it is awesome your helping a noble cuase and its on our team..

may I suggest this.. create your own user names and add the madshrimp website address to the end of it ... that way you can estyablish rank moung your own team - rank competion spawns greater folding growth!

WELCOME TO THE SICKNESS!!

JBELL

DUR0N 21st November 2002 18:25

we? competetive? noooo :)

...Didn't think so but I thought, just in case. LMAO :grr: :^D

Bosw8er 21st November 2002 19:08

So we should change to nick + [MADshrimp]

like :

Bosw8er[MADshrimp]

This will create a plugin or something ... JBELL will explain how it works ...

jmke 21st November 2002 19:11

this will create what?

Bosw8er 21st November 2002 19:20

GREAT idea but let me interject..

don't create one user.. add [madshrip] to the end or [www.madshrimps.be] to
the end of each folding members name....
that way your site will get a plug from our ranks - you help our team and
you have your own team as well...

don't know how it works though

exactly

what this does is give each of you your own folding stats... so the sub team of madshrimps will have its own ranks of order to follow ...
like if xtremesystems was a sub team my user would be:

JBELL (xtremesystems.org)

JBELL 21st November 2002 19:37

..now all the stats will be listed under xtremesystems .. but with the website at the end of your name - you can easily see what your TEAM has donated as well as what each MEMBER has donated... and track everyone that way.

Bosw8er 21st November 2002 19:46

ah, thought it was a trick to get our own team-stats, or a trick to easily summen the team effort.

But this is just a name we choose ..

Then i prefere "[MADshrimp] nick" ... so, if you put the names alphabetically .. all team members are .. euh ... /smacks head with plastic hammer ... alphabetically ... and thus easy to compare

end of n00b folding explanation

Answers :
a) is this correct ?
b) everybody ok ?
c) we maka the change ?

right you can list alphabetically within www.statsman.org but not with folding.stanford.edu.....

but putting site first is cool - how ever you want to do it.

A- yes
B- yes
C- I like it...

biCker 21st November 2002 19:52

a) dunno
b) no, headache is even worse now :^D
c) I run along with the rest...
