i was just checking out the non-ref card, and the mods are identical, the chips are just relocated (and slighty different models)

Not sure if i'll be able to mod it though, it's pretty small Never done it before but i can't be that hard

reading with the "20k" option on the multimeter i get a resistance of 5.11 between the modpoint and GND.

After soldering a 100k between the two, i read 0.09 with the same "20k" option, isn't is a bit strange? resistance should be about the same or at least higher

No, resistance changes when you add a resistor.

sure but i mean, from resistance 5.1 to 0.09 will give a huge voltage increase am i right?

You soldered correct, I assume?

There are three pins on a VR: two outer legs and one in the middle. Measure the resistance between one outer leg and the middle one, which should be +/- 100k ohm.

-If not, turn the VR until it is.
-If yes, solder the outer leg to the FB point and middle leg to ground (no need to measure the resistance on the card itself if you know what VR you need).

that's precisly what i did soldering is perfect: tiny drop on the point then cable on drop so there is no contact with any other point i doublechecked the res between the 2 legs of VR and it's ~100 (i broke the third leg )

i just didn't want to power up scared to push 12V through the core

you checked resistance of the VR before soldering, right?

Yes i did

Multimeter @ 20k readout

Res on PCB before mod = 5.11
Res on VR before mod = 0.09

Res on PCB after mod = 0.09, but it should be 5.10

Res between the two legs of the VR before modding should be approx 100k ohm, not 0 ohm!

For good read-out of the resistance of the VR, use 200k setting

problem solved thx PJ

the dude at the electronics shop gave me 4x 100 ohm instead od 4x 100K lucky i didn't fire up ^^
