Installed E8600 + DFI P45

What a disappointment: cannot get the cpu up to 4Ghz at all, not over 450FSB after 3 nights of work. CPU temp sensor seems to be stuck as well, readings are all over the place (@ 17°C and NOT moving under load).... Will sell this lot asap, costly joke

Seriously? You either have a very sucky motherboard/bios or are doing something wrong. Mine did 500FSB at the absolute lowest voltages.

Can you share some of your bios settings (including what bios you're using)?

It's the cpu I think... it needs 1.35V to get to 3.8GHz... I've never seen such bad E8600. Stepping is good though

I really really hope I'm doing something wrong. Updating bios now, so can't see which version I was running any more (never checked ) Have to change OS probably as well : still on Vista 64

What stepping?

I'm a little worried about the 450FSB limit as well

Q822A433 ; pack date 08/04/08

500FSB no post at all btw. Can you tell me how much vNB you need for that approx ? And VTT ? Don't think it's that though as I've tried various configs. Almost ready here to throw everythign out of the window, I'm that frustrated
