The GA-5AX v4.1 has the same VCC3. Strange, since yours is a SiS chipset and mine a Aladdin. And mine is made around may 1997 and yours 1999. But thanks for the mod. Now my motherboard (sometimes) boot's at 135 (!!!!!). 130 is bios stable ;). Mine original voltage was 3,8, the max now is 4,1. I think it really likes some more juice. Is there a way to attach the 5 volt line to it? Also, my 500 K6+ died today :(. I hope you will mod Massman's 5AX sometime... |
VCC3 is a common thing for socket 7 so it's not that abnormal you found the same voltage regulator: http://www.madshrimps.be/vbulletin/f...tml#post226152 It's not chipset related. Yes you can probable feed the CPU directly from the 5V line, although I would not take that risk. Your game, not mine :) You probable have to desolder the Vcpu coil, the one which reads the cpu voltage, and then solder a wire from your PSU onto the soldering island which is closest to the cpu, the one were the filtering caps are connected with. Open a thread and share your results, maybe some PI scaling numbers, some pictures of your modified board? |
if u pay LN2 and like to come here NP ;) . if got a container for that 8800GTS of ure's , also the EVO can be put on the cpu or something like that ;) . greetz blind |
Thanks for the offer, one day that GTS will feel the cold, first job is to get a PCIe system running. |
