Default HANNS.G HG281DPB 28-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor

Ask any gamer how big of monitor is the perfect monitor and you might just get a response of "the bigger the better". Today Benchmark Reviews takes a look at a LCD monitor aimed squarely at the "bigger is better" gaming crowd. The Hanns-G 28" LCD HG281DPB monitor seems to fit perfect with the typical gamer looking for the largest LCD screen they can get without breaking the bank. Featuring an Active Matrix TFT, 3ms response time, 1920x1200 resolution, and at a cost of under $600. On paper the specifications look great, but how would it actually perform in reality? I had to give it a shot.

"We often forget just how critical our monitor is to our overall computing experience."

So does he by recommending a HUGE monitor with a TN panel and a low resolution (so viewing angles HURT and the pixel size isn't sharp and requires being far away from it).

As for a review, this is a broke down Lada compared to the Ferraris we are used to drive from hardware.fr and prad.de.

I think I could write an article for Madshrimps explaining LCD tech of today. Any intrest?

Go for it; why criticize the way others do their jobs, it least they try. It woud be a nice turn around for others to criticize you, perhaps they are less critical of your shortcomings.

I'm not ashamed to admit I know close to nothing about LCD tech of today, it would make for an interesting read;

"LCD/TFT Buying Guide: What to look for"

would certainly pick my interest!

Then I'll do one but it will take a month (I'm currently pretty busy).

Just out of curiousity, when was the last time you played a game in front of any LCD monitor and NOT be at a 90-degree angle from the front of it? I don't know anyone who uses a monitor in any position other than dead center in front of them... but you might be the exception to the rule.

Regarding your criticism, I have to simply ask why? Why did you decide it would be more productive to talk about someone else's work here in an unrelated forum instead of giving the author direct feedback? It looks like he is pretty open to conversation based on his forum response of the article.

The author never claimed to be an expert in LCD technology, nor did he title his article in the form of an LCD technology guide. It was a product review of a monitor which he bought an paid for. I'm pretty sure someone will appreciate his input if they're thinking of buying it, even if you don't.

@Das Capitolin,
You are absolutely correct on the 1st and 2nd points. He needs to "walk the talk" and be more diplomatic on his comments. Hopefully, taking a class in HIM http://www.human-interaction-managem...o/#Methodology before anything in his university course will be beneficial to whatever his career becomes after he graduates.
