Mr Robot

This automated RSS Feed post is about: A new Yahoo social networking site that’s still in it’s beta testing has made its way into my living room.
I’m not a huge fan of MySpace, in fact I dissolved relations with people once I found out they had a “space” , and then after knowing so many who had joined (including my own mother) I gave up standing on that soap box, chose to ignore that personality flaw and wound up joining. After a month of just feeling sick of the vibe, the people, and the tacky nature- I deleted my account and discovered an old one I used to create profile codes for friends (I couldn’t delete due to having an e-mail address that was no longer valid and I couldn’t confirm deletion). ANYWAY, I still use my faux MySpace account for the occasional interview requests that have yet to pan out fully.

Sickened still of MySpace and the majority of users, but enjoying the concept of connecting with your friends and family members who are too lazy to use other means of communication like the telephone, e-mail and vehicles; I signed up to Multiply. I rather enjoy Multiply as you’re able to upload your own videos, music, and give a star rating review on things (in addition to blogging, picture sharing and full customization). Multiply just is not catching on (you can even see live when someone responds to your private message or a comments on something you had posted without having to click refresh).
Well the next cure to MySpace might very well be Yahoo’s Mash as it’s more than likely to grab more people and convert them. Unlike Multiply, you can’t change the CSS manually (which is a function I LOVE), but it too has a customization feature that includes changing the background, borders et al, and nice function in which you can view your gawdy friends page BLANK as opposed to burning out your retinas from the hideous designs, graphics and blinking font. Much like Multiply and I suppose “FaceBook” (I’ve never tried that one), you are also able to see who has visited your page, another awesome feature I find comfort in (although I haven’t found it yet on Mash).
I just signed up to my Mash account today and I haven’t really done much with it- but what I’ve seen so far, it’s a nice alternative to MySpace, yet it doesn’t quite measure up to Multiply. http://mysticaldawn.multiply.com
ANOTHER feature I stumbled across, you can even create a profile for a friend and have them merely sign on.
