Whatever you want to call it, here's the truth: In an industry in which the "next big thing" seems to come around every few weeks, the Wii continues to be the biggest story in the video game world, despite being released more than 13 months ago.

while the console itself and the accompanying Sports game is targeted at mainstream audience, there are very few titles available which market the same people;

my parents find Wii sports fun, but couldn't care less about all the shoot em up and racers available, there are very few party games on the Wii and those that are out there are of average quality;

Some have referred to the Wii as a "fad" which could be exactly it, once the novelty wears off, will there be enough quality software titles to keep it from becoming a "passing fad" ?
