Performance is equal as the 850 I've tested for the i5 launch article

-OOPS-

Was this under NDA?

you've mentioned no performance numbers
now we need to know retail pricing for Core i5 850 vs 750

I was in Bejing these last days and we saw a couple of 750's in retail. Price was 1690 RMB, which is about 170-175€

Core i5 750 $209.99
Core i7 860 $299.99

so $90 difference for same performance; or is the Core i5 850 yet another beast?

The 850 was an ES of the 750 with HT enabled.

ok, doesn't make much sense, but it confirms we won't be seeing 850 in retail then

i5 750 is 2.67Ghz max to 3.2Ghz with Turbo Mode, pretty decent if IPC is faster than Wolfdale

Tones has LGA 1156 category ready: http://tones.be/shop_producten.php?cat=39040
