XFX launches 8800GT Alpha Dog edition

XFX has announced yet another card in its 8800GT series, this time it's a representative of its Alpha Dog series. The card comes with 512MB of GDDR3 memory. The core clock has been raised to 625MHz, while temperature went down a bit, 8 degrees down to be precise.

XFX's new 8800GT Alpha Dog edition uses a black PCB with a so called "aluminum stress bar" which should provide better stability for the PCB. XFX's new 8800GT also uses bigger fan, bigger in diameter at least. That bigger fan is the main reason why temperature is 8 degrees lower under load. Unfortunately, the Shader and memory clock remained at reference values, 1800MHz for memory and 1600MHz for the Shaders.
