Default Volta might get a die shrink after all

TSMC’s 12nm named and shamed

There have been lots of rumours about what transistor lithography Nvidia will be giving their next-gen Volta graphics cards, but it is starting to look like it is tapping TSMC its “new” 12nm process.

For those who came in late Volta was supposed to be 10nm process, but that proved a little too tricky. The last rumour had Nvidia sticking with TSMC’s 16nm tech so it could keep to its roadmap and get Volta cards on the shelves before the sun turns into a red giant.
