Default Vista Brute Force Keygen Released

The method of attack has got to be quite troubling for MS on many grounds. The crack is a glorified guesser, and with the speed of modern PCs and the number of outstanding keys, the 25-digit serials are within range. The biggest problem for MS? If this gets widespread, and I hope it will, people will start activating legit keys that are owned by other people

Bill Gates should know better, being a college dropout. Given the resource, there are many smart youngsters out there not bound by corporate "thinking", i.e. "street smart" can and will in this case "break you bank".

Really bad would be if there is a hacked pirate Vista that has the entire copy protection killed off.

yay for the pirates having easier installs than the legit users

people on IRC said that the keygen was fake. (cant confirm)

edit: http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/03/w...keygen-a-hoax/

but then again, ZD net claims to have 2 valid keys from the keygen?

maybe Mickeysoft released a fake version to mask discredit the real one? (but that'd be very cloak and dagger :P)

OEM_BIOS_Emulation_Toolkit_For_Microsoft_Windows_V ista_X86.v1.0-PARADOXThis has been floating around for a few minutes now, and according to the history of this group, i guess this is a bulletproof solution ..
But i don't know what will be the impact for online upgrades since i don't use Vista myself.
----
OEM activation works by having OEM identifiers and SLIC table stored in the BIOS and Microsoft then sign a cert per OEM (also required). The softmod uses vista boot manager to spoof flashed BIOS. Patching a VM should be even easier.

Once again, product activation is only a PITA for legit customers.
no need for Keygen.

How would that work exactly then? Easier than the crap legit customers have to go through?

you install any version of Vista, you run the "OEM crack" which adds a boot loader before Vista , making it think it is installed on an OEM system, you enter a valid OEM key, and your copy will be valid, not time limited, pre-activated.
